I'm sorry about your health and Shih-tzus. Unfortunately i can relate, I lost my both of my poodles over the last year and a half and I have a bunch of health problems that affect my energy.
A new puppy does help ease the pain of losing the other two.
As for the energy, I strongly suggest teaching him fetch and training him to do tricks to wear him out.
I agree, it's might just be adjusting to a new house but you should take him to the vet. He needs a new puppy visit anyway.
When I got Lola she threw up 3x on the way home (3hr drive) and the next day she threw up on the way to petsmart (10min drive) and again when we got there. It took her a few days to get comfortable enough to really eat and she wasn't too active the first few days because she was scared and overwhelmed.
Do you have the food the breeder was feeding him?
I gave Lola some Cesar puppy food at first, it's junk food but dogs seem to really like it, she wouldn't eat the dry food from the breeder. |
