Definitely have a vet see Mollie. The vet will be able to determine whether the extra weight is due to overeating or something else. I've never had an overweight dog, but I knew an overweight cat who butt-scooted because it wasn't able to lick itself and clean properly. A healthier weight *might* help with the leg and flexibility problems, providing nothing else is wrong, but only a vet will be able to tell you that for sure. Good luck!
