My dog's first dose of glucosomine and chondroitin, given to me by a vet, almost killed him. Apparently he had a bad reaction to the chondroitin. Just always be careful whenever you first give a new type of supplement.

Omega 3's have also been shown to help sustain joint tissue health and is something you might consider giving in addition to your other supplement. The Omega 3's are also wonderful for the skin and coat.

Once that tissue starts to break down the pet has more bone on bone pain and less ability to have free movement so you need to keep him on a good healthy diet supplemented with the best stuff you can get.

Read as much as you can because marketing strategies for any pet product these days can be very deceptive. Labeling is not regulated or managed in any way so we pet owners are on our own when it comes to selecting what is best for our babies.

I agree, omega 3 is so wonderful. You can go to trader joe's, they have unsalted sardines in spring water, they LOVE it! It stinks so I hold my breath or breathe thru my mouth when I give it to them.

I really don't know if the cosequin made Momo's knee stronger or what but he never limped or lifted up that leg...the vet did say that it's common in puppies & as they grow older, their knees get stronger. Hope that's the case for Gizmo!
