Is you Yorkie microchippedor tatood or have some other form of ID? Be sure and notify any ID registery that you are transferring ownership so that can be updated. Did you get your Yorkie from a breeder that has a contract that specifies you must return the pup to the breeder if you have to give the dog up? At a year old, is the pup up to date on his vaccines, and has he been neutered? If he has not, and he only cost $400.00 to begin with, I really dont think you should be charging anything for him.....any new owner has to have him neutered yet, along with dental care and possibly vaccines. These three things alone could run them over what you initially paid for your pup. It may be better for you to relenquish him to a reputable rescue that will make absolutely certain he goes to a new home that has been screened well, assuring that he goes to a loving, caring home that will love and care for him. You have to be very careful that whomever you would sell him to, or give him to, was concerned about the best interest of your young man, and not see him as a chance to make money by reselling him....you certainly would not want that to hapopen....you want to be sure your young man spends the rest of his life in a loving home. Good luck with this....I am sorry you have been plunged into a bad economic situation....I wish you couldkeep your buddy. |
