My personal guess is, you aren't letting him in there, so he feels like he needs to claim it for himself. Marking is different than urinating. Marking means expanding territory. He's trying to make your bedroom part of his territory. If I were you, I'd scrub down the carpet with Nature's Miracle, shampoo the carpet and air it out. Then let him in. If he's still marking, every time he sniffs around, and looks like he's about to mark, pick him up and take him to a pee pad.
