I have always read here that puppies cannot be overweight, that they typically won't overeat unless there is a health problem. At 6 weeks, they tend to look "pudgy."

Usually Yorkies are not sent to their new homes at such a young age. Free feeding is often recommended for puppies, so frequent feedings are definitely good.

When your pup is a little older, amount of food is determined by weight/size and activity level.

You may want to post another thread in the breeders forum since they are better versed in how to care for a 6 week old.
