Yes, that is correct. If you open your email and the email opens automatically that is auto view. It is also referred to as Preview Pane, Turn it off by unchecking the box.

As for Windows 8 I am still trying to figure that one out. Even my Yahoo on W8 is set up differently. I cant even find my tool to change it, because it is set to auto view and I get porn sites and other stuff sent to that account all the time. It doesn't always go to my spam folder.

Thanks a bunch for this tip too, didn't know!:
1) Don't use an "administrator" account with full privileges when using your computer. Set up an administrator account and a general user account with limited access. Use the general user account.
