Hi and welcome to the forum! A pin brush is good to brush the long hair of Yorkie because it gets all the way thru and gets out tangles well. Some use slicker brushes, some use wooden pin brushes, and some use metal pin brushes. Madan is a brand that is popular because of it's quality and ease.
Wanda, I don't really know what is different either, but something is because Mandie faught me all the time when I brush her...until I got a Madan. Strange but true lol
