When Pippa was a baby and crated, we always put a cover over her crate at night. We had no problems except when she would start crying and waking me about 3 a.m. to go out and go potty. The crate was in our family room. We didn't put her to bed until we wen to bed and that just became her routine. I vote with trying a cover for the crate.
