The dog doesn't have to have dry food unless you want him to have it. Kibble does nothing to keep teeth clean. Most dogs that eat kibble need their teeth cleaned yearly. Kibble is highly processed food and most have ingredients that actually encourage tarter.

If you like the food he likes and you consider it a healthy diet then don't worry about kibble.
