Hopefully someone will respond who knows more than I. But it sounds like you need to see a vet for his treatment plan. Renal failure usually requires blockers, fluids, & med. If the meds are causing problems, there's a host of other med out there. Medications is the same as w/people. Kd is a good food for senior dogs w/kidney disease. I blend kd w/water for added fluids per my vet. Your pet needs to be under a vet's care. And it's good that your doing research.
