I was wondering about that because I've heard some groomers use the baking powder to put on nails they have been clipped too short. So, I though what if it isn't safe.... and they lick it off ?

Never even considered using it for brushing their teeth although I have used it on my own. That and a little hydrogen peroxide made into a paste whitens them right up.
