thank you, the harness vests I use for serious walking have a d ring that is more in the center of the back on a reinforced strap, The straps that go under her neck and belly wrap around pretty far and have Velcro strips that are several inches long and triple stitched, I have actually lifted her off the ground in them. You can see the placement of the d ring in the photo below. We also have a choke free harness but I find I seldom use that anymore.
The fancy dresses have the same secure Velcro and straps but the d ring is at the end of the waist so we mostly use those outfits indoors during pet events.
