In December we found a little yorkie girl wandering in the cold. Turns out she has some sort of liver disease. You can get the whole story at the URL in my signature.
TL;DR...With a new baby and a new furbaby I have my hands full!
The vet sent her home with Hill's l/d and Tori
hated it. She started acting like she was starving all the time. So I switched her to Honest Kitchen's Keen and she's doing well. Not showing any signs of problems and she's taking her lactulose so
She still acts like she is starving all the time, though. The box says for her weight and activity level she should eat 1/2 cup of the food, unprepared, per day. So I split that into (2) 1/4 cup meals and she's gone off the deep end. She is eating her poop. She tries to eat the woodchips in our landscaping. She spends every free moment looking for food. I don't want to over feed her. Is this from the lactulose?
We keep water out for her so she isn't looking for water.
Has anyone with a yorkie with liver disease dealt with anything like this? Is it safe to give her some of the stop-eating-your-poo tablets? I would call the vet but due to our financial situation I am hesitant to wear her out on freebie advice.
