What makes you think he will have a thin silk coat? I am not familiar with the term "hard silk", is that like what is called cotton coat?

It takes about 2 years of changes for the coat to fully mature, and I'll bet he has plenty of gorgeous hair. Relax and be patient, and he will have a wonderful coat.

My Yorkie Tiki has a silky coat, which many prefer because it doesn't tangle and matt as much as a cotton coat. I kept her hair long for a while because she was so thin. Then I cut it short on her back and only keep the face and legs long, and I love it so much more.
