We just got back from the vet because apparently she wanted to double check the blood test we did. It was showing that he had low blood sugar, but if the blood sits for a period of time, it can throw out false numbers.. We did one of the blood drop glucose tests that you can do in the office and it came up at 110, which I guess is normal and is not low.
I also decided to weigh Prince again and his weight was totally different than it was on Saturday at 7.4 lbs. Upon telling the vet this, she brought out a baby scale, which is more accurate and he ended up weighing a lb more at 8.4 lbs.
I am sure he's lost a little as he's definitely skinnier, but he didn't loose all of the weight I thought he had.

So...as far as she can tell, there is nothing wrong with him. She said his blood test came back great and his urine looked good and other than his teeth, he is as healthy as she'd expect a dog his age to be.

I am totally relieved and am hoping to take this opportunity to do his teeth next. She said, based on his blood test results, she thinks he will do ok under anesthesia...but she wants me to clear it with his specialist first. She also said that his increase in appetite may be due to him being off his meds. Apparently, vetmedin can really kill a pup's appetite.

I never thought i'd be happy to hear that the reason Prince is peeing all over the house is purely due to a behavioral issue...but oddly, I am totally happy to find that out. At least that problem can be solved with a belly band.
