Default Hello. New dog owner advise.

Hi. Glad I found this place.

I adopted a 5 year old bitch this week from a family who where never around due to changing work conditions.

I am new to dog ownership and need a small bit of help.

Her hair is matted around her snout ears and feet . I was trying to brush them out but this seemed to make her flinch a bit. I have washed her with doggy shampoo/conditioner. Should I just cut them out? She seem very healthy but her last hair cut makes her look bad anyway. How soon will it grow back. I would like to make her look great but it seems like a long way off.

Another basic question. Feeding. She was being fed the cheapest dog food which simply stinks in my house.

I bought her some of this
Pedigree Dry Small Dog Chicken 2.7Kg - Groceries - Tesco Groceries
and this
Cesar With Chicken And Turkey 150G - Groceries - Tesco Groceries

I was thinking one 150g carton of the Cesar dog food and a handful of nuts mixed in?

Does that sound like the correct amount? Im very aware of the importance to get the amounts right as my mothers dog suffers from bad joints due to overfeeding.

I love this little thing and see seems very happy here.

I have loads of questions though.

This is her. Its a imageshack link.

Thanks...
