At least you are getting something out of that battle scar! I hate falling with stuff in my hands and bet your things scattered everywhere.

The video thing... I was watching on the news last night and they showed a bunch of people falling in the street in NYC. Embarrassing for those people! Certainly glad I wasn't caught on tape, though who knows, because there are tons of security cameras where I was crossing near an IRS building.

Here I am in a lovely brand new cocktail dress and brand new silver heels. I went to get us some food from the cocktail hour. I had a plate in either hand and walked down the steps beautifully. I reached the floor and got onto the dance floor area right in the middle of the floor. With 300 people watching, my new shoes slipped. I fell backwards, landed on my butt and both plates of food went up in the air and fell on my beautiful new dress. I started crying out of embarrassment but my friend thought I was hurt and rushed to help me. I think everyone else thought I was drunk. I couldn't wait to leave the party. Today I can laugh about it but I was mortified when it happened.
The way you described it made me laugh. This would make a great scene in a movie. Though I imagine you were mortified at the time.
