I use bottled water for my furs too, and I do think it keeps their eyes clearer. I don't need to clean my kiddos' ears bc they just don't ever need it, but I know some people here do need to use ear cleaners. Some people also pluck the ear hairs, but I don't do that either.
I try to bathe them about every couple weeks. I don't use flea/tick prevention here in AZ bc it's not as much of a problem. For clipping nails, I always hold them in my arms while my hubby clips.
