The treatment plan our IMS has Daisy on is benazepril along with a microdose of aspirin. Daisy was caught very early and has greatly improved with no azetemia and has normal blood pressure. Since Daisy has already outlived all her prognoses (the dog is amazing!) we only check her every 6-8 months. I don't think we ever did any thyroid tests because Daisy's thyroid screening T4 has always been good. She's had a number of ultrasounds and those confirm chronic renal failure (for the last 7 or 8 years). As LJ said, I find the illness kind of boring which is good. I hope that turns out to the case with your pixie.
