Well, if it were a splint I would be leary. But a wound...nah. They just don't want it open I imagine to avoid infection. I don't see a problem with removing it and wrapping it with sterile gauze until you can get there tomorrow.

Now, of course, I am not a vet..haha....but if it were my pup I would do it. If it were something like a fracture, I might be tempted to go to the EC rather than risk messing things up. This is different..it is just a healing wound.
