So long as your dog has no problems chewing and swallowing the kibbles, they are not too big. I used to give Bella Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier Puppy formula because that's what the breeder gave me, and the kibbles are small. Blue Buffalo has larger kibbles, but it had a higher rating on dogfoodadvisor, so I switched, and Bella didn't have any problem adjusting. Bella is a healthy 5.5 pounds now at almost 1 year of age.
