Yes that is the main reason this happened, initially they couldn't find any obvious fractures, and sent her home with anti inflammatory medication assuming it was a sprain, and a week later we noticed swelling and movement from and area of her leg that shouldn't. So now she needs surgery Even with her current cast (something called a Robert Jones bandage?) she still zips around on 3 legs just as fast as on 4.
