So sorry to hear. If it makes you feel better, this happened to my Jasmine once. She ran off and we couldn't find her. She was gone for two days. We just kept walking around the neighborhood, and my son spotted a couple walking her on a leash. We immediately went to them and told them that was our dog. They said they were just keeping her until somebody came looking for her and gave her back.
Maybe try asking around your neighborhood. Hopefully someone has your baby safe.
