Default New Member with Isuprel Elixir question

Hello everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself as I just joined the group today. My family and I have 4 wonderful yorkies (siblings) who are 13.5 yo. We are grateful as they have been healthy and oh-so-happy frisky kids. A few months ago, Lucas, the big brother of the clan, had a scary episode of Tracheal Collapse. We were able to stabilize him with hydrocodone, theophylline, steroid inhaler, and sheer vigilance. He pretty much resolved completely in 48 hours. He's had another episode 2 days ago and while it wasn't as severe as the 1st one (less coughing but still low-grade honking and upper airway irritation), he doesn't seem to be reacting as well to the medicine cocktail as he did before. I think it must be the changing weather that is the irritant stimulus for him.

I read about the Isuprel Elixir and know it's a compounded formulation. My GP vet has never heard of it. Can someone tell me a certified compounding pharmacy I can order it from (my vet will give me a script)? Also, I would love to hear of members' experience with the elixir and if anyone has had negative side effects. I tried doing a forum search but nothing pulled up so I must be doing something wrong as I am sure this has been discussed before.

thank you in advance for your help,

Kim and Lucas (8#, 13.5 yo yorkie)
