I don't know about that. I' ve had quite a few female fosters, mainly puppy mill dogs, who lift their leg. I assumed it was their way of attempting to keep their crate clean.I do like the idea of a bottle for my males, and maybe a female or two. I do think I 'll need to go higher on the wall for my maltese who is a bit larger than standard at 14 lbs. Tall and thin not chunky.
