Surprises me that anyone who breeds and sells purebreed puppies - doesn't have them registered.
On the other hand, I could get papers for my pup, but he's not going to be shown and will be neutered in a month or two - so, I have decided not to spend the money. I'll buy him clothes and toys instead.
*** I have always registered my purebreds in the past, but when I get the papers, I put them in a drawer and then never look at them for years. I finally ask myself, "Why am I doing this?"
I think $1000 is a little high for a dog that "can't be registered."
BUT at the same time - $1000 certainly isn't too much for a loveable little Yorkie.
If you are satisfied that the little pup is a purebred - and don't want to show or breed it - I'm not sure that papers really matter.
