Yeah, it's esp hard bc their nails are black & you can't see the quick. What you can do is get her used to you touching, massaging her paw. If she knows the command 'hand' & gives you her paw, then it's easier.
When you clip her nail, clip little slivers @ 1st til you get an idea of where to stop. When you cut their nail, the middle of the nail will be white. When you see a black dot, that's where you stop. Beyond that is the quick.
A good way to judge whether or not they need a nail trim, is put them on a table. If their nail is touching the table, it needs a trim. |
