I bought my baby online too, but from a breeder that I found over the Internet. I sometimes wonder though because it seems like my puppy was crated more often than not and we're having extra trouble house breaking him because of that - but our vet says he's very healthy so I could have just been over thinking it, lol.
Hopefully it wasn't a puppy broker, and if so at least your baby is safe with you now and not living in filth. Those types of places are getting better and better as masquerading as legit breeders, as more information becomes available to us.
