While not certified as a service dog, our Baxter is an important part of my husband's daily routine offering companionship and a real calming. We have seen that comfort dogs can now be added to the ranks of service dogs and be welcomed into public places that otherwise would not allow dogs.
We have been investigating the places where you can get training and certification, but have had little luck in doing so. If this is part of what you want to do with your dog, be sure to get the right training to be eligible for certifications that will allow you and your dog access to those places.
