Clothing can't be left on for too long. It must be removed & the pup needs to be brushed daily to prevent matting. Then they can wear their clothes again for warmth. Pay special attention to the areas that the clothing rubs on, like the neck, arm pits, underbelly, the sides. The arm pits & underbelly along w/inner thigh is considered high rubbing areas (it's also sensitive areas) & it should be shaved or trimmed short w/blunt nosed scissors.
Sweaters are very tangle producing...I don't put sweaters on my guys. But it doesn't get that cold here. You can layer the clothes, put a shirt/ tank on & a sweater over it. |
