I'm not completely sure but I've heard some pups ears go down when teething. Rasta's ears stood from when I saw him at 8 weeks til now at 8 months. I never had a nipping problem with him either but I'm sure your little guy could be teething. I allow him on the furniture but only if I'm sitting next to him in case he tries to get down. I free fed him up until about 5 months then divided his meal into 2 portions when he got older. I take him out to potty about 20 mins after he eats, after he plays, and after waking up from nqps.
