I think all breeds have problems. Yes some yorkies die at young ages but it may be the same cenario with other toy breeds. Bigger breeds don't have problems early on but midlife the start having hip problems, eye problems, etc. So I think they each develop something. This happens also most likely when they are not well bred by knowledgeable people.
