Docking tails before age 5 days old, the nerves have not completely developed to the tip of the tail and the babies will not "suffer" from having the procedure done....they yelp when the clamp is put on and then it is over so quickly, they stop crying immediately. I do my own tails, and they never cry about it again after the initial procedure is completed.
