Hi everyone. Thanks so much for your support. Mr. B is recovering well - thank goodness for pain medicine (smile). I'll be happy when another few days pass and he is no longer has sad eyes and is again assuming the role of 'Master of all he Surveys' insisting that I throw the squeaky toy. (He will actually surreptitiously put one right in my usual walking paths - in the middle of doorways, etc., hoping that I'll step on it so that the games will begin!). I wanted to also say that he's had great tooth care - going to get teeth cleaned once a year, on very healthy organic foods, and regular teeth brushings at home (well, in all honesty once a week instead of daily). The vet said I couldn't have done anything else to prevent this from happening and it was just bone loss. So just wanted to offer that if this is happening to your little guy, sometimes even with the best of love and care not everything is preventable. Also, I posted a photo of him at about 5 years -- I'll post another of his 'new' toothless smile when he is feeling up to it. Again, thanks so much to you all - what a great group of people you are!
