My Cali had it twice. The first time it was very severe. I would take her to my vet during the day and they would giver her IV fluids and medicines. I brought her home each night with the IV port in and would take her back the next day for the same. She was much better in about 5 days. The second time she got it I recognized she was not feeling well and we caught it just in time. They gave her Sub Q fluids and medicine and she was much better in a couple of days. I hope Oscar makes a full and speedy recovery. They say once they have it it can reoccur. Cali only had the 2 bouts within a short period of time and that was 4 or more years ago. She does have colitis so at the first sign of tummy troubles I have medicine to give her.
