When Mimi had floor length hair, we has the same problem. I used dirt & urine repelling products like CC Ice on Ice & The Stuff. Since she is very light, esp towards the back, they worked great. The urine stains were gone, but urine still got on her bum hairs. So I had to wash her bum area every night along w/her paws, which I do anyway after our walks.
After awhile, I couldn't wash her every time she went, so I cut only the hairs on her bum area & back legs. This solved the problem. Her hair didn't look funny either. |
