Poor Lola, I'm sorry for what both of you are going through. I have never heard of anything that would stop that process, but I do hope what your vet is trying is successful.
There are many here that have had their pups go through the surgery you are trying to avoid, and their pups have done VERY well after the surgery. So, either way, Lola has something that is fixable.
