I agree that different pups have different needs for napping throughout the day.
When Max was a pup, he usually woke me up to potty at about 5 am. We always had a play session at about 10 - 11 before bed time. He had me in bed early, and up early.
My boys are both adults now, but I still get up by 6 am for their breakfast and potty needs, then I go back to bed for an hour.
