THanks for the advice everyone! Don't worry, the puppy is definitely last when it comes to attention and feeding time...right now he is not allowed in my bedroom because Tyson gets really grumpy, showing his teeth and everything. Bless his heart...

My daughter still lives at home and she has taken over most of the care, but she does go to college and works part time. The puppy is kenneled during the day when no one is home.

I will definitely be moving the x pen, although my older dogs did have a good weekend with no accidents or marking (however I was home and encouraged them to go outside often )

For now, I am letting them work out the pack boundaries. I did have to intervene Friday evening, the puppy wandered into my room and my female jumped on him when the puppy tried to play with her. Rin did not hurt the puppy and I simply separated them and walked away (my daughter took the puppy out of the room without saying anything). I didn't want to show favoritism to either of them...ya know, reward Rin for her behavior or show the puppy special attention. I just want to do the right thing and not make things worse.

As for my husband's sister, I will have to figure out a delicate way to approach the topic of buying a puppy from a BYB and then giving me all the responsibility. Again, WHO DOES THAT?

I said earlier I met with the "breeder"...well, I did attempt to give him back to be with his mom for the next three to four weeks, she refused! She told me she had already separated the puppies from the mother.

BTW everybody, his name is ERNIE and he is absolutely adorable. I will post pics soon.
