Its mandatory here in Ohio and our cost is $22 per dog. The cost has risen every year for the past three years. We use to pay only $11 per dog and that has now doubled. Plus if you do not pay by the dead line it will also double to $44 per dog !!

Just last summer unlicensed dogs without tags were being seized by the dog warden. Not sure how they thought they had that right but they did.

Ohio county strong arming citizens into getting revenue – compliance sweep of unlicensed dogs has seized 100 so far, threat to euthanize! | InvestmentWatch
I just don't want three tags on her collar only two so not sure which would be more important the county tag or rabies tag. Callie is never left alone and our gates to the fence outside have locks on them so don't have a really big fear of animal control taking her.
