It was 14 degrees here this morning near Dallas and around 7:00 am ERCOT sent out a message to conserve electricity or we might have rolling blackouts(!), like we had in 2011. We had two or three of those rolling blackouts back then and I was praying we didn't get any repeats of that as I had forgotten and turned my thermostat down very low yesterday evening when the house seemed too warm and woke up to a below 60 degree house and was getting it warmed up with the central heat running full blast for a bit. I was sure hoping it could get the house warmed up enough to tolerate before we lost power but then about an hour later, ERCOT rescinded that emergency power message, saying they had generated more power and we were out of the emergency but still conserve, keep the thermostat set at 68, etc. Tibbe got up, ate, went potty outside and went back to bed, where he still is!
Everybody up north and northeast of here in the dangerous weather, please stay safe and keep yourself and your babies warm. It's scary cold in some places and I'm praying you all stay safe.
