I work in a Cardiology office. Heart murmurs are rated 1/6 to 6/6.

1/6 is the softest murmur and 6/6 is the loudest murmur.

Please run a search with heart murmur --- we have had some excellent information posted within the past few months.

Many murmurs (I have one) are harmless - and many people have lived with these murmurs most of their lives without even knowing they had them. I believe that it was the consensus of most vets that a level 1/6 and sometimes a 2/6 (called just a level 1 or level 2 murmur) require little or no treatment... This would be good news for you.

So - run a search - and also get online - search "dog heart murmurs." You should be able to find out a lot.
