Yeah, as Jenni noted, booties can make a big difference. Even more than a coat. Anything to get their pads off the snow. Get something simple, light and comfortable. I use fleece sacks with nylon velcro around the top. They fit like a sock. They do get wet, but fleece insulates when wet. The heavier ones I've tried tend to bog them down.
