My three have bones from beef shanks. I have the butcher cut the shanks about 1/2 to 3/4" thick and then I make some soup for the humans in the house so the furkids can have th bones. I have been doing this for years and years and have never ever had a dog even put a good tooth mark on one. Even Boo the Boxer will chew on them sometimes.
I throw out the old and give them new ones each time I make a pot of good old beef vegetable soup.
