Usually I find the meds wear off within 24 hours. It may just be the combination of the anesthesia and pain meds. Nevertheless, I would probably have bile acid testing done on him at some point. My Teddy Bear had bladder stones in Feb and they found out he had a liver shunt...in seven years with me he had never really shown any symptoms and/or alterations in blood work. There was only one symptom that I thought of after the fact: When he came to me he was a foster pup and he had surgery....he had a very difficult time with the anesthesia and pain meds and was kept at the hospital for an extra day. That was probably the only clue that was missed over 7 years. He had anesthesia after that when he had dentals, but I never noticed anything unusual.
