I have asthma and would never not let Callie be in my room. She has a crate set up with a nice bed, a few blankets, a dog safe heating pad and a blanket over the crate ( I keep my room cold). I never lock the crate she just goes in at night on her own when its bed time. It works well for us both to have our own beds and we both sleep well that way but I like her being only a foot from my bed so I can hear her when she coughs or anything. The only reason I don't like her sleeping in my bed is because I kick and move a lot in my sleep and don't want to hurt her or push her off the bed plus the bed is to high for her to jump on and she wont use the pet steps. Being happy is the healthiest thing for a person so if having your dog in your bed makes you happy then I think that is the healthiest decision for you. If you over analyzed everything then we would find someone who would say everything is bad for us.
