Valuable lessons are learned two ways....by experience or from "lecturing" and recounting from other's experiences. I personally thank God EVERY DAY for the people I have encountered in all areas of my life, that have either recounted their own disasterous experiences, or the people that "lectured" me on what to do, what NOT to do, why to do or not do something, and the consequences to be expected from decisions I made. And, I must say, I have learned more from the people that first got my undivided attention, then proceeded to "lecture" me with an urgency, than the ones that were more "warm and fuzzy" with their lesson, displaying no sense of importance or urgency....I was more likely to not pay acute attention to the "warm and fuzzy" lesson. People all have their own way of sharing on this forum.....some feel that lecturing is more productive, than sugar coating an experience or behavior. The wonderful thing is, as long as the post is respectful and falls within the guidlines of the forum, the OP is free to select THEIR own preferred method of learning, without guidance or direction from others as to what may be more appropriate for them. No sinners, no stones, just exasperated people that have been there, done that, and learned from it the hard way. |
