Contrary to popular belief, just bc a dog is a senior doesn't mean they need to be on a senior diet. My Mimi is going to be 7 years young in Jan & I am not going to switch her over to a senior formula. She is gaining weight faster, so we are walking 30 mins a day & I have reduced her food, lower the calorie intake. Unless your dog needs a lower protein food bc of pre-existing condition(s), no need to switch to a senior formula w/reduced protein. Since older dogs lose their muscle mass, they still need their protein.
