The vet tried to work on my cat in the back once, lol, but came back in the room as he was soooo not cooperating with them. As soon as he was back with me he was fine. With many pets, it's usually the other way around, the owners can make the pets nervous if they're feeling anxious.

I had to tell my new vet that I preferred they work up my dog in my presence. They were fine with that, after they saw he was okay too.

And yeah, if something went wrong and I didn't like their response or their handling techniques, we'd be outta there!
